The Madison County Branch of The Women’s Network will hold its bi-monthly meeting 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, at the Central Bank community room, 350 W. Main St., Richmond. The topic will be hydraulic fracturing to extract oil and gas.
Brandon Nuttall, geologist with Kentucky Geological Survey and technical liaison to the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet secretary, will be joined by Craig Williams of the Berea-based Kentucky Environmental Foundation. The foundation, which promotes environmental health and sustainability, and has been vocal in its criticism of fracking.
The Women’s Network was formed in 2003 to educate, motivate, advocate and activate Kentuckians in support of Democratic Party principles.
The public is invited. Refreshments will be served after the meeting.
