Cecile Schubert
Toxics Research Volunteer
For many years I have been a donor to KEF, but this year I wanted to expand my involvement and became a volunteer. I was asked to do research on issues concerning health & toxic chemicals--it was an enlightening & life-changing experience. KEF's work on health & toxicity and clean air & clean energy will impact each of us for years to come. We should all
give generously of our time and money.

Karen Knowles
Toxics & Health Volunteer
In 2001, I was diagnosed with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. Exposure to toxic chemicals had so disabled me that I could no longer work or carry on a normal life. I volunteer my time with KEF because KEF is committed to educating the public about the harmful effects of chemicals and working to get toxic chemicals more strictly regulated here in Kentucky. I want to be a part of that vital work.

Martina Jackson-Haynes
Toxics & Health Intern
I have always had an interest in social justice, but it was my internship with KEF this past semester that turned my interest into action. KEF provided me an opportunity to use the skills I have to help educate women about the toxic chemicals all round us and provide instruction in how to make safe cleaning products easily & cheaply--especially important for low-income families who can't afford to buy the expensive safe products available in local stores.
Charles Noyes
Clean Air & Energy Volunteer
When I moved to Kentucky and learned of KEF's work to promote energy efficiency and renewable energy instead of relying on energy from coal-fired power plants, I felt strongly that KEF would be a good organization in which to invest my own energy. My instincts were correct--I have become a regular volunteer, informing folks about the financial & health benefits of switching to energy-efficient CFLs.

Mike Hannon
KEF Board Member & Clean Air Volunteer
I have been active in KEF from the beginning 20
years ago when we started our work to convince the pentagon that KY's stockpile of chemical weapns should not be burned. I remember thinking we must be crazy. But with KEF's leadership we stuck together, would not take 'no' for an answer and won. Since I retired from the KY Division for Air Quality I have been a volunteer, which has helped me keep up my environmental activism while helping KEF keep up the good fight. I'm proud to be a part of KEF
.
Deborah Payne
Volunteer Health Coordinator
I am excited about volunteering my time with an organization that is actively raising awareness around public health issues like clean air, clean water and a clean environment. KEF is making a difference in the health and well-being of every Kentuckian.
